The UTC P2576 is a highly efficient step-down (buck) switching regulator that is capable of driving a 3A load. Its simplicity lies in the fact that it only requires a small number of external components, making it easy to use. This regulator features frequency correction and a fixed-frequency oscillator, and can operate with ordinary inductors, simplifying the design of switch-mode power supplies.

One of the unique features of the UTC P2576 is its ability to ensure output load conditions and a 10% increase in oscillator frequency. It also has an external shutdown and a standby current of only 50uA. For added protection, the output switch incorporates cycle by cycle current limitations and thermal shutdown under fault conditions.
